From the Principal...

Dear Dodson family,

Welcome to a Marvelous March! We begin the month with extraordinary news from NYS Department of Education revealing that Dodson students have attained “Good Standing” status based on the 2014-15 NYS Assessments. I would like to once again offer my sincere congratulations to the entire Dodson learning community, parents, students, teachers, aides, secretaries, custodians, cafeteria workers, bus drivers/ monitors and the administrations for creating an environment where learning can and does take place! I urge us all to continue to move forward as we achieve even greater academic success. As such, attendance plays an integral role in students’ achievement. February’s attendance was at 90%. This is a slight decrease from last month’s 92%. Let’s make every effort to reach 95% in March and for the rest of the school year!

As always, please continue to read with your children and check to see that they completed homework assignments. On behalf of the entire faculty, I wish you a restful and literate spring recess. Snuggle up with a good book and meaningful conversations.

The literacy focus for the month of March is "TONE".
The R.O.A.R. word for the month of March is "TOLERANCE".
